Hi from Wangaratta High School

HI I have been at Wangaratta high school for two weeks it was fantastic.I met BJ the computer man and i kept him company for a while, then I met two girls Laura and Darcy, they are in year 7!They showed me around their school. First i went to find them in their classroom to meet their class.Laura and Darcy let me climb a tree in the garden. Then the two girls took me to the general office and i climbed another type of tree, it was a Christmas tree. It was covered in decorations so it was hard to climb i only got half way. Next i had a photo with Darcy then Laura. After that they took me to their locker bay and i met some of their friends. I started to feel hungry so they took me to the canteen, all the food looked yummy. I had to be returned to the year seven office where i met Miss Ware and Mr. Dunbar they are year 7 coordinators. I then spent period 5 in a a high tech PC lab watching them type this out for me(i told them what to say.)

Friday 26th October

Today is a sad day as I have to leave all my new friends at Numurkah Secondary College. They told me that I am going to a new school called Yarrawonga Secondary College. As a memento of my trip I spent today having a picture taken with all of year 7N and saying goodbye to them. I hope the next school is as fun as this one was. I have included some pictures of me with my friends from 7N.

Wednesday 24th October

WOW how lucky was I today I got to go to the Numurkah Show with my friend Michelle. Unfortuantely at the show I was only able to have one picture taken because I was far to busy enjoying myself on all the ride and buying showbags. The rides I went on were Dodgem Cars, Music Trip and Jumping Castle. I decided that the Cha Cha was to scary for me to go on so I just watched other friends go on it. The showbags that I brought were the worlds Largest showbag and Candy World. Due to buy this showbags with heaps of lollies in them I made myself sick and spent Thursday in bed recovering.

Tuesday 23rd October

Hi I have just been introduced to the students of 7N at Numurkah Secondary College. Numurkah is a small town situated 20km from Shepparton. Their Secondary College has about 395 students and they are all very nice especially the ones in year 7N. On my tour around Numurkah I found that it has only one main street where all the shops are located. I went to the football club and learnt that their football team are called the Numurkah Blues as they are the same colours as Carlton.
I then went back to school were I had the chance to meet the Principal Mrs Atkin and then was shown around the school by Sid and Ayla. I got to play basketball and climb a tree. I also got to see the new sun shade area that they have and went to check out what food was available in the cafe. After all this fun I got to go to a cooking class were I made a Baked Potato. I had this for lunch and it was very nice.

Brauer Secondary College - Warrnmabool

When i arrived at Brauer i got introduced at the year 7 assembly and i got to stay with the class of 7A. The first thing we did with 7A was some science, i then got to visit some more year 7 classes. On friday we went around Warrnambool some of the places we went to lake pertobe which is a bird sanctuary/playground and bbq area at lake pertobe i went on the flying foxes and went through a maze and then we went to flagstaff hill where they shot me out of a cannon and got a sticker for my box and a postcard to represent where i have been, then we all went to the breakwater where i nearly drowned by a big wave, we then went to the old aquriam that is no longer a aqurium anymore but is now 5 white cement bumps where i got to slide down backwards. On the way back to school we went to maccas and got a waffle ice cream which my bestest friend Abbi spilled all over the teachers car, the ice-cream then turned into a sundae lol... During my stay here a Year 7 boy made me a travelling companion, called Dwalj, to keep me company on the rest of my travels. On Monday I will be moving on to somewhere new..........See you There

First impressions at Rushworth!!!

Hey it's Zwar!
When I first arrived at Rushworth, I was glad to get out of my box and stretch my legs. I was a bit sore from transit. Anyway, this town is pretty cool. They've got some post modern historic buildings and shops, plus a skate park. The year sevens at the high school, have been really glad to have me. They say I am stopping them from getting too bored with their schoolwork.. not there is a reason that they should be bored!!! They've started a Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Project (S.A.K.G.) and they got some funding to make Veggie Patch/ Fruit Tree Orchard/ Garden, plus they are updating their kitchen classroom. Thanks to Kangaroo Flat for sending me on.

I think I'm going to enjoy my time here!

P.S. I've included some photos of me at this school with AJ, Georgia, Bridie AND Flopsy, the Year 7 pet rabbit. Enjoy!

One last entry and then I am away.........

You haven't heard from me for a while......I have been busy getting ready and training for the ultimate survival challenge that year 7’s take. SURVIVAL DAY at Brucknell Scout Camp.
Lighting a campfire was fun…collecting sticks and dried gum leaves and throwing them on the fire. Then we had to make a shelter from what ever we could find around the campsite and near by bush. Lunch was an interesting mix of charred sausages, potatoes and damper all prepared and cooked by me and my island team. The mystery challenge that really took the most out of me was when I volunteered to be the one to eat a raw egg….urgh! But I survived and my team gained valuable points…I am exhausted now…and am taking a well needed rest while I go onto my next destination and enjoy the holidays…some where quieter…maybe!
See you soon!

Camperdown profile

What I found out about the township of Camperdown: Small western district township of approximately 4000 inhabitants. Most people know it for its main street, which has an avenue of Elms, a clock tower and interesting heritage buildings.
It is also known as a great place to stop for a cuppa on the way to Warrnambool.
Camperdown College has been working with the local community for many years on revegetation projects involving many of the local lakes and craters areas, with special focus on the Mount Leura and Sugarloaf reserve, which is part of a unique volcanic nested maar formation. There is also this fantastic new stadium that looks like a space ship crossed with a mountain…it is used by the Camperdown College and the community.
I have had a great visit here…..lots of great people in year 7 and heaps to see and do.

First impressions of Camperdown

I was on my way to Camperdown College, SW Victoria, when things went horribly wrong…..
It was like I had entered a void.....a dark place...that felt safe and familiar...so I wasn't too worried....
It seemed such a long time later but I finally found myself were I was meant to be. Things were in full survival mode…year 7’s here ‘actively learning’ to survive on islands with names as strange and mysterious as ‘The Other Side’, ‘Subsistence’, ‘Island of Pain’, ‘Gamijakel’, ‘Leadja’ and ‘Marjacaluma’……my head started to spin as I had to find food, water, shelter and a place amongst new friends…..
I thought I was going to die…..but my destiny was not so…not just yet, anyway…..
Things were starting to shape up as I found my way back to mainland Camperdown and had a chance to explore around.
So many exciting things happening here in this school at the base of an old volcano….
I was on a mission to find out more…..I took a peek at the new Active Learning Centre building site when the workers were on smoko! I had to make a run for it when the cement mixer headed my way….
